Skills and Capabilities

To regulate digital services effectively, the DRCF member regulators will need to build appropriate skills and capabilities and attract people to their organisations. There are common skills, capabilities, expertise, and experience that will provide value to each of the members’ regulatory remits, especially in relation to digital regulation. The DRCF member regulators have collaborated on a series of pilot projects across recruitment and learning and development, including :

  • developing a recruitment strategy, aimed at maximising opportunities to provide a joined-up entry point to prospective candidates
  • hosting a joint careers event to highlight the wide range of jobs on offer across the DRCF regulators, including data engineers, technology advisers, analysts and policymaking
  • introducing early careers candidates into the range of career paths on offer in digital regulation at the National Apprentice Show
  • appointing the DRCF’s first graduate, who will complete a series of six-month rotations across relevant DRCF member regulators.

The DRCF member regulators will continue to work together through joined-up campaigns to attract and retain talent through graduate rotation and secondment opportunities.
