Protecting people and businesses in an agentic economy: A Joint Statement by DRCF Members

30 October 2026

The Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum’s (DRCF) members – the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Information Commission's Office (ICO) and Ofcom – have published a joint statement on protecting people and businesses in an agentic economy.

The DRCF's member regulators are preparing for the growing availability and adoption of personal AI agents in the UK.

The statement sets out the work already underway across the CMA, FCA, ICO and Ofcom in this area. It also outlines how regulators will continue to collaborate as the use of these agents grows, and how existing legal and regulatory frameworks apply to personal AI agents.
